Vino Costa: A Rosé Beyond Conventions
The Vino Costa is a testament to Barranco Oscuro’s knack for creating fine yet unconventional masterpieces. In 2013, this wine served as an entry point into the world of Manuel Valenzuela, redefining Rosé not as a secondary player to red wine but as an expressive, standalone creation.
This wine embodies many of the attributes that distinguish Manuel’s work: the courage to forge unique paths and disregard conventional—and often nonsensical—winemaking norms. Each vintage of Vino Costa tells a new story, crafted from a mix of red and white grape varieties that change annually.
Despite this variability, some elements remain consistent: Manuel’s steadfastly artisanal approach in the cellar. Here, observation and thoughtful reflection guide the process, with minimal intervention. Wines are moved, matured, or bottled only when necessary, always without the addition of sulfur.
Style & Aromas
Vino Costa is warm, herbal, inviting, and uniquely open. It exudes elegance and a sense of calm, flowing harmoniously and evenly across the palate. Its balance and serenity make it a standout among Rosés.
