Terre Silvate, says Corrado Dottori, is the wine that represents La Distesa like no other. A lively, purist and animating Verdicchio that is much more than just a basic wine.
It comes from vineyards in three different communes in the old Verdicchio metropolis of Castelli di Jesi. None of them is more than a handful of kilometres away from Corrado's winery. Each has its own specific geological and climatic attributes. Verdicchio plays the leading role, although Trebbiano and Malvasia are also found here. Both grape varieties also play their part in the finished wine, in varying proportions depending on the vintage.
Usually harvested in the last week of August and the first week of September, the wine is fermented spontaneously, matured in cement, removed from the lees around Easter and bottled shortly afterwards.
Lively, straightforward and very precise. Dense and grippy, delicate aromas open up, ideally hinting at floral aromas and fresh fruit. The flavours continue across the palate and are juicy, long and persistent.
