South Tyrol is a border region, influenced by the north as well as from the south, is linguistically and culturally flexible - something similar can also be said about viticulture. Old traditions meet innovative influences. One is increasingly relating to biological and biodynamic management, at least occasionally opens up the ideas of the natural wine movement and is a pioneer in growing mushroom -resistant varieties. Wine grows in South Tyrol from the Mediterranean Warm Lowerland on the border to Trentino up to the alpine cooling Vintschgau and the Eisack Valley. Due to the many topographical differences, the small wine country is divided into a variety of different, always exciting wine terrors. Working out this authentically is the claim of the best winegrowers in the region.

Miau! - The Playful Pét-Nat with a Rich History No goose wine, no oligarch's wine—this is a kitten's wine. But don't be fooled by its playful name; "Miau!" comes with a story. Martin Gojer's "Miau!" is a Rosato frizzante, fermented using the metodo ancestrale. This traditional method of sparkling...

That a cross between Merzling and GM 6493 (whose parents are Muskat-Ottonel and Zarya Severa) can actually produce a great wine is still somewhat of a mystery. Piwis – fungus-resistant grape varieties – are not yet highly regarded in collective perception. However, thanks to Thomas Niedermayr, t...
