Hungarian can even be simple. Rosza just means pink. No sz at the beginning and no three ö and four accents above the letters.
Neszider is not really difficult either. It means Neusiedl am See, the home of Alexander and Maria Koppitsch. Neusiedl belonged to Hungary until 1921, and in honour of their Magyar roots, the couple has given its basic wine series Hungarian names. The pink Rosza originates from the idea of producing a local wine to which all of the Koppitschs' Neusiedl vineyards and red grape varieties contribute a small part.
The polyphonic work therefore consists of Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch, Pinot Noir, St.Laurent and Syrah from the Neuberg, Seefeld, Prädium and Hutweide vineyards.
The grapes are harvested more or less at the same time by hand, left on the skins for a short time, pressed and then fermented together spontaneously and without temperature control. Maturation takes place over 6 months on the lees. Before, during and after fermentation, nothing is removed from the must/wine and nothing is added except 15 mg/l SO2 shortly before bottling.
Red fruit flavours, vital acidity, an animating texture, low alcohol and a lot of drinking flow. A wine that flows on rails towards the palate with no ifs and buts and of which it is better to have a case than just one bottle, as it usually goes down quite quickly. Fun and yet with depth.
