Hungarian can be simple too. "Rosza" simply means pink.
Neszider isn't complicated either – it means Neusiedl am See, the hometown of Alexander and Maria Koppitsch. Until 1921, Neusiedl was part of Hungary, and to honor their Hungarian roots, the couple gave their "Basic Wine" series Hungarian names.
Rosza, their pink wine, embodies the idea of a local wine that unites all Neusiedl vineyards and red grape varieties grown by the Koppitschs.
This harmonious blend includes Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch, Pinot Noir, St. Laurent, and Syrah, sourced from the Neuberg, Seefeld, Prädium, and Hutweide vineyards.
The grapes are hand-harvested, briefly macerated, pressed, and then co-fermented spontaneously without temperature control. The wine matures for 6 months on the lees. Throughout the winemaking process, nothing is added or removed, apart from a small dose of 15 mg/l SO₂ before bottling.
Style
Bursting with red fruit aromas, vibrant acidity, and an engaging texture, Rosza is low in alcohol yet high in drinkability. A wine that flows effortlessly across the palate, making it a perfect candidate to enjoy with friends. It’s light-hearted and fun, yet holds surprising depth. You might want a case rather than a single bottle – they tend to disappear quickly!
