In addition to the Le Trame, her milestone, Giovanna Morganti also covers the "5", whose name does not owe any negative assessment by school chiefs, but simply the house number of her winery. The foundation is the same as for the Le Trame and the fabric from which the wine is made of the wine is based on the same grape varieties: In detail, this means a stony, mainly made of quartzite and lime -together terrain and a combination of Sangiovese (approx. 75 %), Mammolo, Colorino and Foglia Tonda. The difference is mainly in the vine age and in a slightly changed expansion: the "5" was not fermented in wooden barrels, but in steel tanks and left in contact with its shells for almost 30 days. Then he was moved to used wooden barrels for one year and filled unfiltered.
Style & flavors
The "5" scores through energy, freshness and dynamics but also with red fruit and fine floral notes. While the Le Trame has been made for the future, the "5" is a concession to the present. Thanks to the shorter mash contact, it is refreshing, juicy and lively and yet profound, deep and powerful. It is accessible from the first second and yet a wine that will develop in the bottle over the next few years.
