Heydi Bonanini's rosé was not a planned wine. It was created in response to a hailstorm that fell right over his Canaiolo vineyard in 2016 and wiped out his entire harvest in a matter of minutes. Thrown back to his other two red varieties, Bonamico and Moscato Rosso, he decided to leave the two on the skins for a short time and bottle them as rosé. This laid the foundations for a wine that quickly secured a regular place in Heydi's wine team.
Its composition has remained the same in subsequent years. The Canaiolo is used entirely in the red wine, giving the two delicate and aromatic varieties room to develop and realise their full potential.
The Rosé d'Amour (we are not sure, but suspect that there is a little irony behind the name) throws floral and strawberry notes, salt and macchia herbs into the aromatalon. It is cool, direct and crystal clear, fragrant, agile and Mediterranean.
