You can only pull your hat off to Niki Moser. 24 hectares he and his team in Rohrendorf in the Kremstal maneuver are bio -dynamically, another 27 are added 150 kilometers to the south in Apetlon, in the Pannonian lowlands. The effort is enormous, but now - after much more than a decade of biodynamics - seems to reach into the other. The wines have a clear manuscript and have been at an extremely high level for years across all style.
A barely achieved masterpiece is minimal. We don't know a better version of the grape variety. The grapes for the 2012 minimal were read by hand in his vineyard Hedwigshof, which was in stock 50 years ago, carted to Rohrendorf and immediately fermented there. Then the wine was inserted into small used wooden barrels, where it developed its flavors for the next 18 months without any interventions. Without being beautified and filtered, it was then flipped without sulfur addition.
Style & flavors
The minimal has strength, depth and substance and yet is open, inviting and elegant. After over six years in the bottle, he is in absolutely perfect balance - velvety, soft, powerful, a long, quiet river. It is dark fruity, peppery, offers dark spice and sweet flavors, in short: it is complex, complex and long and enjoys every sip.
