Heydi Bonanini’s Rosé wasn’t a planned wine. It was born out of necessity following a hailstorm in 2016 that hit his Canaiolo vineyard and destroyed the entire harvest within minutes. Left with his two other red varieties, Bonamico and Moscato Rosso, he decided to give them only a short maceration time and produce a rosé. This decision laid the foundation for a wine that quickly became a staple in Heydi’s lineup.
The composition has remained the same in subsequent years. The Canaiolo is reserved entirely for red wine, allowing the two delicate and aromatic varieties to fully express themselves and reach their full potential.
Style: The Rosé d’Amour (we suspect the name carries a touch of irony) showcases floral and strawberry notes, complemented by salinity and Mediterranean herbs. It is cool, direct, crystal-clear, fragrant, agile, and deeply Mediterranean.
