The démodé is- unlike the name suggests- an experiment that Massimiliano Lanza von Pruneto believes that it is currently even closer to the beginning than at the end point. This may be so and lets a lot expect for the future, but you can already state that the start has been successful.
The experiment is a tribute to the Merlot, which Massimiliano's father Riccardo put in a parcel surrounded by forest in 1999. The floor there is loamy, the climate is relatively cool, so that the Merlot looks pleasantly lively. So far this benefited the Chianti Classico. Now he got his own bottling, in which exceptionally not a small proportion of Merlot the Sangiovese, but the Sangiovese assisted the Merlot.
Vinified separately and brought together shortly before the filling, the Merlot will be macerated over 30 days over 20 days and the Sangiovese. The fermentation is spontaneous and takes place in concrete cards. The expansion takes place in large wooden barrels for over 24 months. Fresh, fruity and animating, equipped with a fine spice and a lot of train, the Démodé is a prime example of a wine that knows how to combine drinking flow and depth and also a formidable meal companion.
