Crestan: A Tribute to Tradition and Terroir
Garganega is a grape variety that truly thrives only when cultivated in the right terroir—limestone, volcanic soils, and cooler influences are key. Additionally, proper vineyard practices are essential, with yield management being particularly critical. A respectable crop load, far from five-digit figures per hectare, is a must. For the Crestan—Davide Spillare’s entry-level wine, dedicated to his grandfather Cristiano—he limits yields to just 6,000 kilograms per hectare. This reduction, combined with organic farming, meticulous vine care, and artisanal winemaking, shines through in every sip.
Style
The Crestan is juicy, dynamic, and delightfully drinkable, yet offers depth and an impressive array of aromas. White flowers and Mediterranean stone fruit are complemented by refreshing citrus notes. The finish is lively, crisp, and full of energy.
