Trebbiano Briccone is the younger brother of Trebbiano Fortuna. Its "birth" in 2022 was shaped by the rather cool and rainy conditions of that year – which led the grapes originally intended for the Fortuna to accumulate slightly less sugar and extract compared to previous vintages. The resulting wine turned out to be more slender, and so Luca and Alfonso, the two protagonists behind Caprera, decided not to release it as Fortuna, but instead to bottle a new wine: the Briccone. Spontaneously fermented and aged in concrete, it is light-footed and agile – simple, but by no means dull, with notes of white blossoms and ripe citrus on the nose, and a vibrant, persistent finish.
