"An old vineyard. The light of San Michele. A long dialogue with the air. The passage of time. That is Gli Eremi."
One could leave it at that.
However, a few additional explanatory words wouldn’t hurt. San Michele is the part of Cupramontana that has been considered the Grand Cru of the area since ancient times. The vines for Gli Eremi are planted where the steep slopes gradually become gentler. The soil is poor, characterized by clay, limestone, and veins of gypsum running through it. The Verdicchio vines were planted in 1980 and face south. The altitude ensures cool nights. Vineyard work is done by hand and follows the needs of each individual vine. The harvest takes place in several stages, starting in mid-September and ending in early October.
Fermentation is carried out without intervention. The wine is aged for 24 months in oak barrels of various sizes, with the smallest barrel holding 500 liters and the largest 1200 liters.
Style
A wine made up of seemingly contrasting elements, yet forming a beautiful whole. Power meets elegance, dynamism meets calm, assertiveness meets finesse. Deep aromas are enveloped in a pulsating, dense texture. Inviting freshness pairs with substantial depth. A wine for the years and decades to come.
