The Rosso della Gobba from Francesco Mariani combines Sagrantino, Sangiovese and Montepulciano, the three great red grape varieties of central Italy, to produce a pleasant, inviting red table wine.
Francesco favours finesse and elegance over substance in the Rosso della Gobba. As always, the work in the vineyard is organic, supplemented by biodynamic methods. In the cellar, vinification is carried out at the highest level of craftsmanship and without the use of additives. The wine is matured in steel tanks for 18 months. There is no fining or filtering and a very low amount of added sulphites.
Cool herbal notes, dark cherries, sweet spices. Has drive and energy. Taut, playful and light-hearted. Combines drinking flow with depth. Great wine for all days.
