The Camporenzo – A Quintessential Valpolicella
The Camporenzo has long held a special place in our hearts. Sourced from the eponymous limestone-rich single vineyard above San Pietro in Cariano, it is crafted from Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella—three of the most important grape varieties of the region. Grown in the traditional Pergola Veronese system, these grapes are harvested late, often in early October, as Carlo and Alessandra explore the potential of Valpolicella beyond Amarone through a wine made in a classic, authentic style. The result exceeds the expectations of many wine enthusiasts.
The Camporenzo is aged in large 2,500-liter wooden barrels after undergoing spontaneous fermentation and relying solely on the natural components of the grapes.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, the Camporenzo reveals red fruit, subtle spice, pepper, foliage, and herbal aromas. It is velvety and profound, with present yet perfectly integrated tannins. Expressive and impactful, it flows with clarity and liveliness across the palate. To fully experience its potential, it is recommended to decant the wine, as a bit of air allows it to shine.
