Italy has around 700,000 hectares of vineyards spread across all 20 regions. The geological and climatic differences are eminent. There is more than just one world between South Tyrol and Sicily. In addition, there are around 500 different grape varieties, countless viticultural traditions and a multitude of excellent winegrowers who interpret them in their own personal way. So there is a lot to discover. In our range, we pay tribute to this diversity and combine it with personal preferences - knowing full well that we can unfortunately only offer a fraction of what would actually be worthwhile.

Croatina is a Piedmontese-Lombardy grape variety that can basically provide the basis for excellent red wines and should be recommended to every wine drinker. The only problem is that you often don't know whether Croatina is really inside where it says Croatina on the label (Daniele Ricci's El Ma...

A Chianti Classico with character. This is due without exception to the Sangiovese. Riccardo and Massimiliano Lanza have given the Merlot, which once accompanied it, its own bottling, so that the great red grape variety of Tuscany has its own special place.  Grown on a limestone-rich south-easte...

The grapes are harvested ...

Even though all wines at Rocco di Carpeneto receive similar attention, the STEIRA, Piedmontese for star, shines brightest in the young winery's Dolcetto sky. The grapes for this come from the Vigneto Rocco, planted in 1970; the yields are low, but the quality is all the higher. The early-ripening...

Merlot. Purely varietal, too. We understand that there are people who simply click on to the next wine. And we don't want to be missionaries and take up the cudgels in favour of Merlot, it's just that Davide Spillare makes a truly fantastic wine from it. We do not know whether this is due to the ...

Daniele Ricci once said that it is better to cultivate Timorasso vineyards alone if possible. Today, his son Mattia, who is well trained in this area, usually he...
