Wines from Italy
Italy has around 700,000 hectares of vineyards spread across all 20 regions. The geological and climatic differences are eminent. There is more than just one world between South Tyrol and Sicily. In addition, there are around 500 different grape varieties, countless viticultural traditions and a multitude of excellent winegrowers who interpret them in their own personal way. So there is a lot to discover. In our range, we pay tribute to this diversity and combine it with personal preferences - knowing full well that we can unfortunately only offer a fraction of what would actually be worthwhile.
Foradori: Manzoni Bianco 2023
Wein
- €22,90
Manzoni Bianco is the most successful of Italy’s new grape varieties and one of the most appealing in terms of quality worldwide. Unlike most grape hybrids, which are the result of natural crossbreeding, it was created through deliberate experimentation in the laboratory. Its creator, Luigi Manzo...
Foradori, Morei 2023
Wein
- €38,90
The two Teroldego wines, Morei and Sgarzon, are the result of many years of biodynamic vineyard work in two single vineyards that are particularly well-suited to the variety. The use of Spanish tinajas (clay amphorae) was also a long process before Elisabetta Foradori began bottling wines fermen...
Tenuta Saiano: Zero Leftovers 2022
Weißwein
- €13,80
The somewhat intimidating name of this wine shouldn't deter anyone from trying Tenuta Saiano's white entry-level offering. We assure you that the vinified "leftovers" from this estate surpass many other less candidly named introductory wines, largely due to the meticulous and chemical-free cultiv...
Caprera, Vento e Sale 2022
Wein
- €25,90
To dispel any doubts right away. Pecorino is of course also a cheese and as such is much better known than the grape variety of the same name, which is mainly found in southern Marche and northern Abruzzo - and only recently, as the variety was virtually lost for a long time and only reappeared ...
Fabio Ferracane, Magico 2022
Wein
- €18,60
Magico: A Distinctive Grillo from Fabio Ferracane OverviewWhile Catarratto dominates Fabio Ferracane’s portfolio, his Magico showcases the region’s other quintessential white grape, Grillo. Sourced from a small vineyard in the plains behind Marsala’s famous salt pans, the vines thrive in stony so...
Caprera, Le Vasche 2020
Wein
- €23,90
Vasche, to which Luca Virgilio's Montepulciano pays tribute, are ancient basins that were carved into the rocks around Pietranico thousands of years ago to crush grapes with feet. Although Luca does not do this, he is aware of the long history of viticulture around his winery, which was complete...
Caprera, Fortuna 2020
Wein
- €19,60
Fortuna is Luca Virgilio's crystal-clear and profound white wine made from Trebbiano abruzzese and a small proportion of Passerina. However, the terroir is at least as important as the two grape varieties in the case of Caprera, which is characterised less by the sea 30 kilometres away and more b...
Raìna: Rosso della Gobba 2020
Wein
- €12,90
The Rosso della Gobba from Francesco Mariani combines Sagrantino, Sangiovese and Montepulciano, the three great red grape varieties of central Italy, to produce a pleasant, inviting red table wine. Francesco favours finesse and elegance over substance in the Rosso della Gobba. As always, the wo...
Thomas Niedermayr: Solaris 2019
Wein
- €23,90
That a cross between Merzling and GM 6493 (whose parents are Muskat-Ottonel and Zarya Severa) can actually produce a great wine is still somewhat of a mystery. Piwis – fungus-resistant grape varieties – are not yet highly regarded in collective perception. However, thanks to Thomas Niedermayr, t...
SRC, Rivaggi 2019
Wein
- €44,80
Nerello Mascalese and Grenache: A Unique Blend from Mount Etna A blend of Nerello Mascalese (80%) and Grenache (20%). The first grape variety is expected, but the second comes as a bit of a surprise. However, Grenache is found in many Italian wine regions, though rarely under its original name: i...
Foradori: Fontanasanta Nosiola 2023
Wein
- €38,90
Nosiola has long been native to the Trentino region. Elisabetta Foradori delivers one of the finest expressions of this variety with her Fontanasanta, which is aged in amphora. "Fontanasanta" is also the name of the two-hectare vineyard where the grapes are grown. The soils are poor and calcareo...
Colombera & Garella: Melascone 2021
Wein
- €16,20
A few decades ago, Coste della Sesia still had a few hundred hectares of vines, but today there are a whole thirty. The reason for this was not the quality of the wines, which have been repeatedly praised in the annals of local viticulture since the 14th century, but the general rural exodus that...
Daniel Sigmund, Silvaner 2022
Wein
- €22,90
In 1873, the great grape variety researcher Hermann Goethe described Sylvaner as follows:"In all northern, higher-altitude vineyards, in less favorable locations, and in poorer soil conditions, Green Sylvaner is an extremely valuable grape, which will not be surpassed by any other in terms of hig...
Pranzegg Demian 2021 (Rosato)
Wein
- €25,90
Lagrein Rosato: A Rosé with Depth and Freshness Few Italian grape varieties are as well-suited as Lagrein for producing rosé wines that balance freshness with depth. This is due to the thick, dark, extract-rich skins, which impart color, aroma, and tannins even with brief contact with the juice. ...
Bergianti: No AutoClave 2021 - Frizzante Rosato
Wein
- €21,90
Autoclaves or pressure tanks represent the industrialisation of Lambrusco in both symbolic and concrete terms. They can be used to produce sparkling wines quickly and cost-effectively. Their quasi-universal introduction in the 1950s led to a multiplication of production, but also to a standardis...
